A Global Celebration of Voices

In this special Walking in Beauty project, choirs from around the world will gather in Berlin to join Dr. Darius Lim and the Voices of Singapore Choral Society in creating an extraordinary musical experience. Under Dr. Lim’s artistic direction, supported by distinguished conductors from Singapore and beyond, the programme will bring to life the vibrancy, emotional depth, and rich diversity of Asian choral artistry.

The concert features some of Dr. Lim’s most beloved works alongside new compositions written especially for this occasion. At the same time, participating choirs are invited to share musical inspirations from their home countries, contributing to a global dialogue on one of the world’s most iconic stages.

What do we sing?

The Festival Choir, as in all CHORALSPACE projects, consists of participating choirs and ensembles as well as individual singers from around the world.

The following works have been selected by Darius Lim to be performed by the Festival Choir:

Scores will be available in our webshop from February 2026.

The participating choirs and ensembles bring their own repertoire and present it in various concerts and at the closing concert in the Philharmonie.

Who will lead the project?

The Festival Choir of the project is conducted by Darius Lim.

Where will rehearsals and concert take place?

Rehearsals, the welcoming concert and the presentation concerts are scheduled in the Matthäuskirche at Kulturforum (Matthäikirchplatz 1, 10785 Berlin).
The final rehearsal and the closing concert will take place in the beautiful Kammermusiksaal of the Philharmonie Berlin.

What costs are involved?

The participation fee for the festival will be announced at the opening of the registrations in February 2026.

Artistic Leadership

Darius Lim (Composer and Principal Conductor)

Dr. Darius Lim is a celebrated Singaporean Conductor-Composer known for his visionary approach to choral music. As the Founder and Artistic Director of Voices of Singapore, he holds prominent positions locally and internationally, including CEO of The Voice Company and Board Member of the International Federation for Choral Music. His compositions, known for their dream-like textures and hopeful messages, have gained international acclaim and been performed by renowned ensembles such as Voces8 and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also the conductor of numerous award-winning choirs who have won Grand Prix and Category Champions in international competitions across Asia and Europe.

Lim’s works have been featured by Sir John Rutter, Choir & Organ Magazine, and at major choral events like the 2023 World Symposium on Choral Music in Istanbul. He is the first Singaporean composer to release a full album on NAXOS Records. Under his leadership, Voices of Singapore has transformed the choral landscape, with over 1,300 singers and 30 choirs, including those serving underprivileged communities.
