Jocelyn B. Smith (Artistic Director & Soloist)

Jocelyn B. Smith has lived in Germany for 30 years. She is a jazz and opera singer and has worked with very different artists such as Lenny White, Till Brönner, Falco, Alphaville and composers such as Mikis Theodorakis.

In 1995 she received the Golden Record Award for the German version of theme song “Circle of Life” of the Disney film “The Lion King”. In 2011, Jocelyn was asked to sing “Amazing Grace” at Berlin’s 9/11 commemoration at the Brandenburg Gate, which was broadcast worldwide by CNN.

Jocelyn B. Smith is involved in various social projects with and without music-related issues against poverty, social exclusion and child protection. In 2018, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit by the German Federal President for her social commitment.

Johannes David Wolff (Conductor)

Johannes David Wolff studied music theory at the Berlin University of the Arts and choral conducting at the University of Birmingham, England. His most important mentors include Christian Grube and Simon Halsey, with whom he still works regularly today.

He is the artistic director of the Vokalhelden and has also directed “Das Vokalsystem” since its founding in 2012.

Johannes David Wolff has been involved in a leading role in major choral projects at the Berlin Philharmonie several times. Under the overall artistic direction of Simon Rattle, he studied the choral parts for opera premieres by Jonathan Dove (2015) and Andrew Norman (2017). At CHORALSPACE, Johannes David Wolf was involved as a vocal coach in the Brahms Project 2023 with Simon Halsey and as a lecturer at the Quo Vadis Choral Music 2022.

Vokalhelden

The Vokalhelden were founded in 2013 by the Berlin Philharmonic on the initiative of Simon Halsey and Sir Simon Rattle. The artistic director of the Vokalhelden is Johannes David Wolff. The aim of the program is to inspire as many children and young people as possible to sing together, regardless of their origin, native language, disabilities or financial means. Over 350 children aged 6 to 13 rehearse every week at locations in the districts of Moabit, Hellersdorf, Schöneberg, Gropiusstadt, in the Märkisches Viertel and in the cross-district youth choir. Performances in the districts and cross-location concerts take place regularly.

Ruby & Enny Mae

Ruby, born in Berlin (12 years old), discovered her passion for dance, singing and acting at an early age. Since 2019 she has been taking musical lessons at Stagecoach Berlin Mitte (acting/dance/singing) and dance lessons at the Birkenwerder dance school (hip hop/freestyle).

Enny-Mae is a 21-year-old newcomer and singer in the EDM/Dance Pop/House scene. She started living her dream in 2022: With her first four songs, which were created in collaboration with well-known producers, she was able to build up a large audience. Her song cover “Not Fair” by Lily Allen made it into the top 5 of the German charts and reached 25 million streams within three months. With the support of international radio stations and DJs, she made it to the top of several playlists. She is on her way to turning her passion into a career.
