Ensembles and Artistic Directors

Simon Berg (Conductor CHORALSPACE Festival Chorus)

Simon Berg discovered his passion for music at an early age, singing in children’s choirs. After attending the musically focused Pestalozzi-Gymnasium in Munich, he studied voice and piano at the Richard Strauss Conservatory and served as church musician for the Evangelical-Reformed Church in Munich until 1999. In Berlin, he worked as a conductor for Der Glöckner von Notre Dame and as an artistic assistant for the EuropaChorAkademie. He has also conducted concerts with renowned ensembles. Since 2022, he has led the St. Konrad Gospel Choir and, since 2024, the gropies Berlin.

Anthony Blake Clark (Conductor Dallas Symphony Chorus)

Anthony Blake Clark is a leading voice among his generation of choral conductors. At Baltimore Choral Arts, he has served as Music Director since 2017. His work with BCAS has been recognized with an American Prize in Choral Conducting and a second nomination for best community ensemble, as well as the Chorus America/ASCAP Alice Parker Award. After preparing three critically praised programs in 2022 and 2023, Music Director Fabio Luisi appointed Clark as Chorus Director of the Dallas Symphony Chorus. Anthony Blake Clark is also the Artistic Director of Bach Vespers in New York City.

Dallas Symphony Chorus

The Dallas Symphony Chorus is one of the leading concert choirs in the United States and a cornerstone of the Dallas arts scene since its founding. As the official chorus of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, it collaborates regularly with world-class conductors and soloists. Its repertoire spans symphonic masterpieces, sacred works, and contemporary compositions. With its distinctive sound, the chorus captivates audiences at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and beyond, including international listeners. In addition to regular performances, the chorus participates in tours and prestigious festivals.

CHORALSPACE Festival Chorus

With four concerts per year, the CHORALSPACE Festival Chorus is an integral part of the guest performance season at the Berlin Philharmonie.

Depending on the line-up, between 250 and 1,000 singers from all over the world come together to present magnificent moments of international choral music in one of the best concert halls in the world.

CHORALSPACE Festival Orchestra

The CHORALSPACE Festival Orchestra – founded as Ensemble Crescere – is CHORALSPACE’s own orchestra for choral symphonic projects. The young ensemble made its debut at the Philharmonie Berlin in March 2022 with the Coronation Anthems conducted by Simon Carrington. In June 2023 the ensemble performed “Ein Deutsches Requiem” by Johannes Brahms under the direction of Simon Halsey in the Philharmonie Berlin. The ensemble is led by Donka Miteva.
