Entrepreneurial Paths – Making Music Work
September 28, 2021 at 19:00 CET
2020 demonstrated that without new ideas the business of music is at best going to stagnate and at worst hit a crisis. This session is about the journey of a music entrepreneur and the lessons he received from reaching his destination. You will learn about singing, touring, managing artists, publishing, recording, filming, and creating revenue in the online concert and teaching world.
Robin Tyson leads the choral music publishing across the Edition Peters Group. He had an international performing career as a countertenor for the previous 20 years, among which he sang with The King’s Singers, with whom he won a Grammy® Award as performer/producer in 2009 and a MIDEM Award in 2010. His solo recordings include those on the award-winning SDG label, which released all of Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s Bach Cantata interpretations.
Robin initiated the Edition Peters Artist Management (EPAM) and, since then, has been general manager for artists like Voces8, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Ola Gjeilo, and others. He specializes in managing the careers of vocal ensembles, singers, conductors, and composers, working closely with publishers and record labels.
