Event Management in the Music Industry
A 35-year management experience with events in the music industry means that you have really seen it all – from small recitals in chambers to huge open-air concerts in stadiums.
This session will be filled with helpful insights, spiced with captivating anecdotes and background stories to guide you through the challenges of the industry and how a concert promoter can overcome them.
Thomas Schüle is professor of music management and musicology at the Liceo de Cagayan University in the Philippines. He has been an active music manager around the globe for 35 years, touring with orchestras and choirs, organizing music festivals, TV and CD productions, and arranging concerts with world stars, both pop and classical, such as Boney M., Sir Elton John, Mstislav Rostropovich, Anne-Sophie Mutter, etc.
Thomas was a director of INTERKULTUR Germany for almost two decades during which he was the core organizer of dozens of international choir festivals and competitions, among which the ten editions of the World Choir Games. Thomas was a choral singer himself for about 25 years and has won first prizes in international competitions as well as sung with the professional chorus of the Stuttgart State Opera in hundreds of performances.
