Zimfira Poloz is a passionate conductor, educator, adjudicator, and clinician. She is the artistic director of the multi award-winning Hamilton Children’s Choir, a professor of vocal pedagogy for choir at the University of Toronto, a curator and editor at Cypress Choral Music, and the founder of the multi award-winning 1st Choir School in Kazakhstan. As an adjudicator and guest conductor, Zimfira is sought-after locally, nationally, and internationally, conducting events in South Africa, Singapore, Norway, Japan, Mexico, Israel, Russia, England, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, France, China, Estonia, etc.
Zimfira has been decorated with numerous professional awards during her career, including the Honored Educator of Kazakhstan (the highest award of the Ministry of Education), the city of Hamilton’s VIP Award, the Leslie Bell Award for Choral Conducting (Ontario Arts Council), and many others.
