What do we sing?
Gioachino Rossini Petite Messe solennelle 1863
We will use the vocal score of the Carus Verlag 40.650/03, ISMN 979-0-007-07572-9
Scores are available in our webshop or in music stores.
The participating choirs and ensembles will also have the opportunity to present their own repertoire in various concerts during the project as well as at the final concert at the Philharmonie Berlin.
Who will lead the project?
The project is led by Johannes David Wolff a.o. Artistic Director of the Vokalhelden.
Where will rehearsals and concerts take place?
The final rehearsals and the concert of the academy will take place in the beautiful Kammermusiksaal of the Philharmonie Berlin and will be part of the official program of the Philharmonie.
The venues for the rehearsals will be announced soon.
What costs are involved?
The participation fee for the academy is EUR 195.00 per participant.
Non-performing accompanying persons are offered a reduced participation fee of 55 EUR per person, which includes access to all rehearsals and tickets in the best category for the concerts, including the performance at the Berlin Philharmonie.
Accompanying persons, friends and fans that wish to attend only the concerts can purchase concert tickets in our ticket website.
Where can I find accommodation?
For this project, we will select several hotels near the Philharmonie that offer special rates for participants. You will find the offers here soon.

Academy Leader
Johannes David Wolff (Academy Leader and Principal Conductor)
Johannes David Wolff studied music theory at the Berlin University of the Arts and choral conducting at the University of Birmingham, England. His most important mentors include Christian Grube and Simon Halsey, with whom he still works regularly today.
He is the artistic director of the Vokalhelden and has also directed “Das Vokalsystem” since its founding in 2012.
Johannes David Wolff has been involved in a leading role in major choral projects at the Berlin Philharmonie several times. Under the overall artistic direction of Simon Rattle, he studied the choral parts for opera premieres by Jonathan Dove (2015) and Andrew Norman (2017). At CHORALSPACE, Johannes David Wolf was involved as a vocal coach in the Brahms Project 2023 with Simon Halsey, lecturer at the Quo Vadis Choral Music 2022 and conducted the series Choral Christmas.
