This fifth project of the CHORAL CELEBRATIONS series at the Philharmonie Berlin is our very own version of the popular series “The Three Tenors”. The most significant changes are:
Four conductors instead of three tenors and 700 singers but no soloists!
12 popular opera choirs were selected for this premiere and will be spectacularly staged at the big hall of the Philharmonie Berlin with singers from around the world coming together for this unique performance.

Ensemble Crescere
The Ensemble Crescere is CHORALSPACE’s own orchestra for choral symphonic projects. The young ensemble made its debut at the Philharmonie Berlin in March 2022 with the Coronation Anthems conducted by Simon Carrington. In June 2023 the ensemble performed “Ein Deutsches Requiem” by Johannes Brahms under the direction of Simon Halsey in the Philharmonie Berlin. This is the sixth project of the ensemble at the Philharmonie Berlin. Ensemble Crescere is led by Donka Miteva.
Donka Miteva
Conductor
Donka Miteva is Artistic Director and Conductor of Collegium Musicum Berlin where she works with the four classical ensembles at the Free and Technical Universities Berlin. She is the winner for numerous awards with her Collegium Musicum Berlin Chamber Choir and Symphony Orchestra at prestigious competitions in Germany and over the world. She works with numerous ensembles in Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal, South Africa, Panama, China a.o. and teaches Conducting since 2019 at the University of Arts in Berlin.
Matteo Valbusa
Conductor
Matteo Valbusa leads renowned choirs such as Insieme Corale Ecclesia Nova, the Coro Maschile La Stele and the Coro Marc’Antonio Ingegneri. He has received awards at numerous national and international choir competitions. Matteo Valbusa conducted the choir of the Fondazione Arena di Verona in the opera choir concerts “Fuoco di Gioia” and in Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” at the Verona Philharmonic Theater. He directed the Coro Lirico Veneto and other choirs for opera productions at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo, Teatro Verdi in Padua, Teatro Del Monaco in Treviso and Aleksander Hall in Cortina.
Vinzenz Weissenburger
Conductor
The conductor and choral director Vinzenz Weissenburger works with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta and Sir Simon Rattle and has conducted orchestras such as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Staatskapelle Berlin and the Lautten Compagney. Outside Europe, he has appeared as a conductor in Argentina, Vietnam, China, Qatar and the USA, among other places. He leads the Kinderchor of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the youth chamber choir Junges Consortium Berlin, the choir of the Junges Ensemble Berlin and teaches choir conducting at the Berlin University of the Arts.
Anthony Blake Clark
Conductor
Anthony Blake Clark is a leading voice among his generation of choral conductors. At Baltimore Choral Arts, he has served as Music Director since 2017. His work with BCAS has been recognized with an American Prize in Choral Conducting and a second nomination for best community ensemble, as well as the Chorus America/ASCAP Alice Parker Award. After preparing three critically praised programs in 2022 and 2023, Music Director Fabio Luisi appointed Clark as Chorus Director of the Dallas Symphony Chorus. Anthony Blake Clark is also the Artistic Director of Bach Vespers in New York City.

Overview of costs
for performers and friends
The participation fee for the four-day project and the concert is EUR 98.00 per participant. 12,00 EUR are added for the vocal score of the 12 choir pieces that will be sent as a PDF-file to all performers.
Non-performing accompanying persons are offered a reduced participation fee of EUR 55.00 per person that includes access to all rehearsals, to the concerts of the fringe program and a ticket in the best category for the concert at the Philharmonie Berlin.
